First up in the type case is this lovely, relatively new logotype for Pinterest, which blends iconography, visual puns, and good typography into a surprisingly neat and contemporary script! And what’s this? Is that a…? It is! A discretionary ligature. Almost anyone can be my best friend if the first printed thing they give me has a discretionary ligature on it. I’m not picky, it’s totally at your discretion.
At any rate, this is way above-and-beyond what the old logotype use to be. So my hat goes off to the design literate fellows at Pinterest. If you’re not pinning already, you should. I might just have to pin their logotype to my wall.
